The Team
As part of our established Financial Operations team at the Ministry of Health, you'll work with a dedicated group of six professionals in a meaningful and supportive environment. This team is integral to managing payroll, time, leave, and other corporate services that underpin our vital healthcare mission. The Role
You'll manage client and staff interactions for corporate payroll, leave, and benefits, while also conducting internal financial audits. Your contributions will play a crucial part in supporting the Ministry of Health’s financial operations, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our services. This is an exciting opportunity to excel in a dynamic, large-scale environment, where you'll utilize a wide range of skills and make a significant impact on healthcare support.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary education and training in financial management, accounting and payroll; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience implementing change initiatives and developing financial processes in relation to new or updated financial systems.
  • Intermediate level Excel experience.
  • Experience in supervising staff, including allocating work and developing and evaluating performance plans.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience using PeopleSoft HR, Reporting and Time and Leave applications. 
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Query.
  • Experience in the provision of expert financial advice and direction to all levels of staff.
  • Experience with senior level management, of internal and external ministries/agencies.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to four (4) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
