The Team
The Strategic Planning, Priorities and Engagement (SPPE) Branch is the go-to team for corporate planning and reporting, event coordination, and communications services at MOTI. You will be part of a supportive, energetic, and client-focused team that thrives in a fast-paced environment in newer branch serving the needs, interests and expectations of the public, ministry staff, and broader government.

The Role
As the Communications Officer, you will craft compelling communication materials across various platforms. Whether it’s for the intranet, events, executive messages or public-facing channels, your work will play a key role in fostering a positive and informed culture at MOTI. This position is a fantastic opportunity to elevate your communication skills, allowing you to create a wide array of content tailored for diverse audiences. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (such as Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, English, or equivalent).
  • An equivalent combination of related experience, education and/or training may be considered.
  • Minimum one year of related experience in the following:
    • Experience in public relations such as: internal or corporate communications, social media or media relations supporting a large organization
    • Experience writing and editing communication materials including: communication plans, executive messages or speeches, social media, newsletter articles, etc.
    • Experience working with general communications principles, concepts and methodologies including issues management, and media production (ie. Video production and editing).
    • Experience building and managing collaborative relationships with clients, partners and interest holders.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • One year or more experience supporting, planning for and facilitating online meetings and events for an organization.
  • One year or more experience using graphic design platforms for digital content.
  • One year or more experience using CMS (content management system) Lite.
  • Experience working in a public sector setting.
