The Team
The Operating Funding Model Implementation (OFMI) Branch is an established team of approximately 40 professionals, including Program Support Clerks, Client Relations Coordinators, Operating Supervisors, Senior Program Developers, Project Management experts, and Leadership, all working together to create meaningful change in the child care sector. Our team is currently testing a new funding model to help achieve the goal of $10-a-day licensed child care throughout British Columbia. Members of this team bring their diverse perspectives and support one another in finding creative solutions to make affordable childcare a reality for families across the province

The Role
The Program Support Clerk supports the implementation of new child care funding programs and processes.  You will communicate with child care providers and the general public, review incoming submissions, manage records and provide technical and administrative support within the OFMI Branch. This position has an impact on families, communities, and the child care sector by advancing the $10-a-day Program. Excitement comes from contributing to the expansion of this program across the province and working on projects that enhance service delivery and support families with accessible childcare options.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent (e.g., GED)
  • One (1) year managing customer service interactions over the phone and by email
  • One (1) year providing administrative services in an office and/or remote setting
  • Using Microsoft Office Suite or database applications. A combination of experience gained in professional workplace, volunteer, or academic settings may be considered for this requirement.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience working in an in-office and/or remote call centre environment
  • Experience providing administrative services within the child care sector
  • Experience providing technical support in an office and/or remote environment 
  • Post-secondary education or training in Business Administration
  • Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences

Willingness Statement:

  • Must be willing to work on a computer and take phone calls for the duration of the shift

About this Position:
There is one (1) permanent and one (1) temporary opportunity available until October 1, 2025.
The temporary opportunity may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
