The Team
Join the established Data Innovation Program team within the Research Innovation and Community Partnerships Branch, a dynamic group of five dedicated professionals driving impactful data-driven insights. This collaborative team works closely with government analysts, academic researchers, data scientists, and external partners to deliver high-quality research using Agile methodology. Their work supports critical projects that address complex issues, from mental health care access to sustainable transportation solutions. The Role
In this role, you will lead an agile development team to design and refine data products that modernize government services and support evidence-based decision-making. Using your skills in leadership, technology, product management, and design thinking, you’ll guide the development and implementation of secure, innovative solutions that link and de-identify data from multiple sources. Your work will directly support research projects that provide valuable insights into complex issues affecting British Columbians. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

We appreciate that non-traditional career paths may have developed a candidate's competency and alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, business administration, public administration, project management or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in product design and practices gained working in a product, project or service capacity for a minimum of three (3) years.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience analyzing and using customer insight and user and performance data to design and continually improve services to fully meet user needs in a convenient and straightforward way.


Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Relevant certification, as a Certified Scrum Product Owner, or equivalent.
  • Experience challenging and removing any unnecessary barriers to product delivery.
  • Experience with Service Design.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 02/14/2026. This opportunity may be extended or become permanent.
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
