The Role
In this role, you'll have the chance to rotate through various Correctional Supervisor positions, providing essential training, guidance, and support to Correctional Officers in a 24/7 operation. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety during immediate events like disruptions or assaults, and you'll be the go-to authority in these situations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supervising operations, resolving conflicts, overseeing inmate work programs, and promoting important treatment programs. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent; 
  • BC Corrections Correctional Officer status plus completion of 25 hours of courses in the Correctional Officer Learning and Development certificate, or 5 years of correctional experience or equivalent experience; 
  • Experience in unit operations and security systems;
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Additional training in areas of human behaviour and leadership techniques; 
  • Some introduction to automated security and information systems; 
  • Experience with corrections programs; 
  • University/college courses in the humanities, sociology, psychology, and/or criminology, and computer and communications technology.
