Description
The Team
The Learning and Development Branch (L&D) is responsible for developing training for Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency (ICFSAs) staff. The branch consists of 30 staff who are collectively responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training. L&D is a dynamic workplace that is dedicated to supporting staff, fostering learning, and making a meaningful impact on children, youth and families across the province. This position sits on the Programs Team which currently consists of 11 staff who work collaboratively with our colleagues on the Projects and Operations Teams.
The Role
The Learning Program Facilitator leads virtual and in-person training sessions, develops learning materials for staff and foster caregivers and provides direct assistance to learners. This role works closely with colleagues to support learning initiatives that allow staff to deliver the best possible services to B.C.’s children, youth, and families.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor or Master of Social Work; Bachelor or Master of Arts in Child and Youth Care; Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology or Master of Education/Counseling, in conjunction with child welfare/family service work experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- One (1) or more years of experience facilitating meetings, orientations or training, using a variety of tools in a face-to-face / blended / or online environment;
- Two (2) or more years of experience with issues and trends in the social service sector, including Child Safety and Indigenous cultural competency;
- One (1) or more years of experience collaborating with colleagues and/or co-facilitators, including providing feedback and recommendations on training, program or service delivery;
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook;
- Intermediate experience using Online Meeting and eLearning Tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Lync, Live Meeting, Learning Management System, Moodle, GoTo Meeting).

About this Position:
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Children & Family Development offices: Burnaby, Nanaimo, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
