The Team
The Criminal Investigations Unit is a dedicated team that ensures the integrity of the Ministry’s programs thorough criminal investigations. You’ll be working alongside other Supervisors, Ministry Investigators and Senior Ministry Investigators, collaborating with administrative staff to protect and uphold the integrity of these vital services. The Role
As a Supervisor, you will act as a Special Provincial Constable, overseeing thorough investigations and special reviews of clients suspected of committing criminal offences under Ministry statutes and related Criminal Code violations. You’ll play a key role in determining enforcement actions and making recommendations to the Ministry of Attorney General. In this role, you’ll also evaluate loss prevention controls, provide detailed reports, and offer recommendations for improvements to the Executive Director of Prevention and Loss Management Services. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in administrative law, investigation and enforcement, criminology, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Qualifies as a Special Provincial Constable.
  • Experience conducting and leading employees carrying out complex criminal investigations.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience supervising staff in a financial crimes setting.
  • Experience supervising staff within a criminal investigations unit.
  • Experience supervising staff within a collective bargaining setting.
  • Experience and/or training in Major Case Management.
  • Experience in conducting internal investigations of criminal acts committed by employees.
  • Experience in conducting investigations of potential fraud of financial support programs.
  • Experience in conducting criminal investigations of potential fraud of child care subsidy programs.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
