The Team
The Assistant Deputy Minister's Office leads the Indigenous Justice Secretariat (IJS), a dynamic team committed to addressing the overrepresentation of Indigenous Peoples in the justice and child welfare systems. The office oversees transformative initiatives such as the BC First Nations Justice Strategy and the Métis Justice Strategy, focused on reforming current systems and revitalizing Indigenous justice practices. Grounded in the principles of UNDRIP and DRIPA, the team collaborates with diverse partners to drive systemic change and uplift Indigenous communities across British Columbia.

The Role
As an Executive Coordinator, you will play a vital role in driving the success of the Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office (ADMO) by managing its operations and acting as a critical link between executive offices, including the Deputy Minister’s Office, Minister’s Office, and Premier’s Office. You will oversee key functions such as issues management, communications, and financial administration, while supporting the development of strategic service plans and leading high-impact projects. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to shape operations at the heart of government decision-making and ensure seamless collaboration across executive teams.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

 

  • Post-secondary training, certificate or higher in business administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a senior administrative role.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.

    
Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in a senior administrative role.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience working with Indigenous Nations and organizations.
  • Experience working with financial policies and internal controls
  • Experience in project management.

About this Position:
This position is based out of the location listed above. 
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There is currently a temporary opportunity available until January 15, 2026, this temporary opportunity may become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
