Description
The Team
The BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund (MJF) is a team of 15 in the Investment Division that manages a $180M funding program that provides up to $10 million to for-profit manufacturing companies, focusing on transitioning the forest sector to higher-value products. The team works with applicants to assess project readiness and viability, negotiating and administering large-scale funding contracts while delivering key public-facing mandates.
The Role
As the Senior Manager, Program Policy and Assessment, you'll lead the MJF’s Policy and Assessment team, overseeing the evaluation of applications and financial due diligence. You'll manage the prioritization of applications, recommend which ones advance for final approval, and build cross-government relationships. Additionally, you'll develop program policies, set timelines, assign tasks to the team, and ensure the accuracy of materials for the MJF Review Panel.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, Finance, Planning/Project Management, Natural Resource or Social Science or related field and a minimum of three (3) years related experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include:
-
Experience in project management and/or leading large scale and complex projects with multiple project delivery components.
-
Experience in issues management and problem solving, including providing expert advice to senior management, staff and clients and leadership in the implementation of solutions.
-
Experience establishing, building, and maintaining collaborative working relationships with executive, colleagues and internal and external stakeholders, for the purposes of program or policy development, administration, and oversight.

Experience leading and coaching staff or teams and managing workloads.
Preference may be given to applicants who have one or more of the following:

Experience delivering grant programs and/or service delivery to the public.
-
Experience in assessing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and/or reviewing business financial positions.

Additional years of related experience.

About this Position:
This is a temporary assignment until 01/30/2026 that may be extended or become permanent.
