The Team
The Financial Recovery Team is a dedicated group of professionals who work closely together to support one another and get results. Our work plays a critical role in helping B.C. recover from natural disasters by maximizing federal disaster funding and supporting emergency operations across the province, all while partnering with local governments, First Nations, Ministries, and other agencies.

The Role
As a Regional Financial Analyst, you’ll support B.C.’s response and recovery efforts during and after natural disasters by helping the Province access federal funding. Your work ensures public funds are used effectively and that communities receive the financial support they need in times of crisis. This is a meaningful opportunity to apply your financial skills in a way that directly supports people across the province, with a strong focus on collaboration, equity, and community impact.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma in business administration, public administration, or finance, and a minimum of two (2) years related experience, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Related experience must include:

  • Two (2) years experience working with financial accounting systems, procedures and internal controls.
  • Two (2) years experience interpreting and providing advice on financial policies/procedures.
  • Two (2) years experience implementing and maintaining financial processes/procedures.
  • Two (2) years experience tracking, analyzing and reporting financial forecasts.

Preference may be given for:

  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory work experience including assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance.
  • Minimum of one (1) year emergency management experience including financial forecasting and tracking of event related expenditures.

Candidates must be able and willing to: 

  • Work on-call and extended hours during emergencies and disasters. 
  • Travel to other regions.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until December 31, 2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
