The Ministry of Attorney General works in partnership with the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General to advance a shared vision of a safe, secure, just, and resilient British Columbia. The ministry works to keep communities safe and provide certainty, proportionality and, above all, fairness when dealing with criminal, civil and family law matters and to protect people, especially those who are most vulnerable.

The Ministry of Attorney General is responsible for legal services including sheriff and court administration, implementation of Indigenous Justice Strategies, legal aid, prosecution services, administrative tribunals, civil and family justice services, multiculturalism and anti-racism, protection and promotion of human rights, and providing legal advice to Government.

As a branch within the Ministry of Attorney, Court Services provides the citizens of British Columbia with effective, timely, safe and impartial access to justice. The branch ensures protection and access to court administration with integrity and compassion, while respectfully working together as an engaged team.

The Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) carries statutory authority as the Chief Administrator of Court Services. The ADM leads all matters of court administration, court security and the delivery and harmonization of court and judicial administration processes to support an effective justice system. This role is the authoritative voice and assumes ultimate accountability for all matters concerning court services.

The ideal candidate for this role is an innovative, strategic executive or senior leader with education and experience that supports their knowledge of the justice system. They will have proven themselves in a large, performance-focused organization and will have been a tactful and diplomatic change leader in a complex setting. Bringing with them their ability to develop, evaluate and implement strategic and operational policy and procedures, this exceptional senior leader uses information technology effectively for business improvement, managing large operational and capital budgets.

The ideal candidate has a notable presence, stature and ability to build credibility in all relationships, particularly with key internal and external contacts. An excellent communicator, they inspire cooperation and collaboration, and model creative, trusted and progressive leadership in everything they do.
