The Team
At the Victoria Crown Counsel Office, you’ll join an established team of professionals, including Legal Clerks, Legal Assistants, Senior Legal Analysts, and Paralegals. This close-knit group promotes public safety, justice, and respect for the rule of law through fair and effective prosecutions and appeals. The team’s strong communication and collaboration create a supportive environment where everyone works together to uphold these important values.
The Role
The Legal Office Manager coordinates office administration functions including human resources; leave management; records management and facilities; and provides legal support services to Crown Counsel including redaction services (at the entry level, advanced level or senior level/special assignment level) for the purpose of disclosure to defence counsel.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent; AND
- Successful completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal program; OR
- A combination of 4 years of education and administrative support/clerical experience in a legal office.
- 1 year or more of recent experience working as a Legal Assistant in a legal office (within the past 5 years).
- Experience leading teams or supervising staff, including allocation of work, performance appraisals, etc.
Preference may be given to applicants who have one or more in the following area:
- Successful completion of a Legal Assistant certificate or Paralegal certificate.
- Three years or more of recent experience working as a Legal Assistant, Senior Legal Analyst, or Paralegal in a legal office.
- One year or more leading teams or supervising staff, including allocation of work, performance appraisals, etc.
- Experience working as a Legal Assistant, Senior Legal Analyst, Paralegal or Office Manager for the BC Prosecution Service.
Provisos /Willingness statements:
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Occasional travel within the province is required. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements of the ministry.
- Keep current of emerging issues, trends and technology through ongoing training and education.
- Take on new projects, tasks and training as required.
- Work overtime in emergency situations in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
- Participate in training and act as a resource in training others.
- Organize and participate in team building and appreciation activities.
- Model high standards, strong work ethic and professionalism.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
