The Role
In this entry-level Data Analyst role, you’ll help turn data into meaningful insights by working closely with teams to understand their needs, build clear and accurate reports, and support the use of digital business intelligence tools. Your work will directly support BC Prosecution Service staff and justice sector partners, helping ensure timely, evidence-based decisions that impact communities across the province. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree and 6 months **related experience; or post-secondary diploma and 1 year **related experience; or; or certificate and 2 years **related experience obtained from a recognized institution for a *related field of education
  • Equivalent combination of education plus training and experience in a **related field may be considered.

*Related Education may include: Data science, computer science, GIS, statistics, mathematics, or relevant specialty degrees as designated by program requirements

**RELATED EXPERIENCE MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Experience with reporting/data mining tools (e.g., Power BI and Tableau).
  • Experience in data collection and use of relational databases and data management.
  • Experience querying databases with common data querying tools, such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Oracle SQL Developer, R, Python.


Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Experience delivering technical projects in support of client’s business needs.
  • Experience providing direct client service including prioritizing, troubleshooting and resolving client data and reporting issues, as a primary point of contact.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Experience developing reports and presentations for management and executive level audiences.

About this Position:
This is for one (1) temporary opportunity until December 31, 2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based in any BC Prosecution Service office, subject to available office space. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
