Description

The Team
The Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) is a large team dedicated to fostering positive relationships between landlords and tenants through the provision of information, public education, and dispute resolution services. With a key administrative justice role, the RTB ensures impartial adjudication of disputes between landlords and tenants across BC. The branch operates from locations in Burnaby, Kelowna, and Victoria, playing a crucial part in maintaining fair and balanced rental practices.

The Role
As the Information Officer, you'll play a key role in empowering landlords and tenants by educating them about their rights and responsibilities under the Residential Tenancy Act, the Manufactured Home Park Tenancy Act, and related legislation. You'll engage with clients through various channels, including phone, in-person meetings, and email, while also coordinating and scheduling hearings using an efficient computerized system. This position offers the chance to make a real impact by providing crucial information and support to the community.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).

  • One (1) year working in a high volume, fast paced processing environment dealing with a diverse range of clients.

  • One (1) year experience engaging in conflict resolution and using effective communication.

  • One (1) year experience in the interpretation and application of legislation and/or complex policy.
     

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a contact center environment.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
