The Team
The Assessments and Investigations & Personal Decision Services team supports vulnerable adults across B.C. by making compassionate, person-centred decisions in cases of financial abuse, neglect, and health care consent. We’re a small, experienced, and primarily remote-working team that stays connected and collaborative. Passionate about protecting incapable adults who have no one else to act for them, we approach every decision with care, respect, and a commitment to individual needs.

The Role
This position provides frontline client service. This includes carrying a limited caseload, making approved decisions on behalf of incapable adults, providing required coverage for Regional Consultants, and completing tasks that will ultimately improve client service and result in greater efficiencies.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social sciences, health sciences, psychology, or related field and a minimum of 1 year direct and indirect, related experience.  
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
    • Post-secondary diploma in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of direct and/or indirect related experience applicable course work and a minimum of 3 years of direct and/or indirect related experience
    • High school degree and a minimum of 5 years of direct and/or indirect related experience
  • Experience working in a setting oriented towards providing services to people with disabilities; preferably providing service to people with a mental illness, developmental disability, traumatic brain injury or degenerative conditions affecting brain functions (e.g.: dementia)
  • Exposure to a high stress work environment working with complex, ambiguous and emotionally charged situations
  • Experience working with health, social and other government agencies.
  • Experience working with Microsoft office and within client databases

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week, subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
