The Team
Join the Health and Safety Team within People, Planning, and Organizational Support Branch. It’s a newly established and growing team at the Ministry of Citizens’ Services (CITZ). CITZ plays a vital role in supporting the internal operations of government and ensuring public services are delivered effectively and equitably. The Health and Safety Team—comprised of one manager and two project coordinators—works virtually across BC to implement occupational health and safety initiatives that help make CITZ a safe place to work, as well as a great place to work. Collaborating with a variety of safety professionals and representatives, the team embraces diverse perspectives and continuous learning to ensure health and safety programs meet the needs of all employees across the ministry.

The Role
The Project Coordinator supports the development and delivery of occupational health and safety programs that help employees across the Ministry of Citizens’ Services (CITZ) feel safe, supported, and confident at work. From launching new initiatives to monitoring existing programs, this position plays a key role in making sure staff can end their day as healthy as they started it. It’s a unique opportunity to apply creativity and collaboration to regulatory requirements that directly support diverse teams delivering vital services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 months of related experience; OR
  • Diploma and 1 year related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework and 2 years related experience; OR
  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 3 years related experience; OR
  • Evergreen and 4 years related experience OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related Experience must include

  • Experience providing occupational health and safety project management coordination and support.
  • Providing informed, accurate, and confidential client services to supervisors, managers, and/or senior leaders.
  • Research, interpretation and application of occupational health and safety legislation, organizational policies, and collective agreements to support compliance programs and decisions.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale occupational health and safety programs.
  • Compiling and analyzing data to inform program improvement.

About this Position:
There is one (1) full time position available.
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
