The Team
The Childcare Accounts team is a caring, purpose-driven group within ChildCareBC that ensures early childhood care is accessible, inclusive, and affordable by providing stable funding and timely payments to families and providers. This established team of 24 members—including clerks, team leads, and leadership—collaborates with programs, policy, and education partners to strengthen BC’s childcare system. Their work directly impacts families and communities by reducing childcare costs, supporting providers, and fostering trusted, welcoming spaces for children to grow.

The Role
The Accounts Clerk provides financial support services for the Child Care programs. They arrange effective, efficient, and timely processing of financial transactions. They are also responsible for ensuring compliance with a variety of legislation, regulation, policies, procedure, including the Financial Administration Act, Child Care Subsidy Act, Child Care Subsidy Regulations and Treasury Board Orders.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Nine (9) months experience working in an office setting.
  • Experience in a finance or clerical position.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.

Preference may be given to candidates with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in a front-line customer service environment.
  • Experience working in a contact centre.
  • Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences

About this Position:

Remote work is allowed. This position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved Telework Agreement. The position headquarters will be Victoria or Vancouver.
