The Team
Post-Secondary Engagement and Partnerships (PSEP) Unit is a collaborative team dedicated to strengthening relationships with First Nations, Métis, other Indigenous partners/organizations and post-secondary institutions to understand their needs and facilitate access to post-secondary education and training programs. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals who manage initiatives such as the Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships program, the Indigenous Emergency Assistance Fund, and the First Nations Community-Based Teacher Education program as well as work toward supporting Indigenous language revitalization. Your work will contribute to advancing reconciliation by supporting the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, and B.C.’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
The Role
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will lead partner consultations and engagements and manage emerging issues that shape ministry priorities and service delivery. You will conduct complex research and analysis to assess social, economic, and political impacts; evaluate program performance and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior executives and government officials.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 2 years of related experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 3 years of related experience, or
- Diploma in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 4 years related experience, or
- Certificate or coursework in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 5 years related experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous.
Related Experience must include:
- Experience in development of legislation, regulation, and policy.
- Experience in business planning and/or organizational analysis;
- Experience in leading complex projects that include policy development;
- Experience in leading and/or facilitating effective operation of multi-disciplinary teams.
Preference may be given to applicants:
- Who self-identify as Indigenous.
- With experience leading/facilitating consultations/engagements with First Nations, Métis, other Indigenous organizations and post-secondary institutions.
- With experience providing advice and recommendations to senior officials.

About this Position:
There are 2 temporary opportunities available.
There is 1 temporary opportunity until March 15th, 2027, and 1 temporary opportunity until April 14th, 2027. These positions may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
