The Team
The Corporate Management Services Branch (CMSB) is a collaborative, service-focused team that supports the Ministries of Attorney General and Public Safety and Solicitor General by providing high-quality corporate services across the justice sector. The team leads budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning, while also offering expert guidance in human resources, facilities, and corporate risk. CMSB values diverse perspectives and works closely with partners and central agencies to ensure fair, effective, and inclusive service delivery for all staff and programs.
The Role
This role leads a dedicated team within the Attorney General’s financial planning and analysis group, guiding key activities such as quarterly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial controls. The position provides clear, timely financial insights and recommendations to clients and senior leaders, supporting thoughtful, evidence-based decision-making across the ministry. With a focus on inclusive leadership and continuous improvement, the role also oversees financial procedures, reporting, and client operations, and ensures accurate and accessible information is provided to central agencies, including for Treasury Board submissions.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA); OR an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience in a similar position may be considered.
- 2 years of experience supervising staff, including evaluating performance, coaching, and team building.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent (within the last 5 years) financial experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience with financial management policies and procedures.
- Experience with financial reporting/budgeting/analysis.
- Experience with policy analysis including interpreting and applying policy.
- Preference may be given to candidates having experience in Oracle OAS/BCOA systems.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
