The Team
The Information Policy & Disclosure (IPaD) team is an established, collaborative group of approximately 40 employees dedicated to providing timely, legislatively compliant disclosure of records that support transparency and informed decision-making across the province. Working within the Disclosure unit, this team collaborates closely with internal and external partners to gather, review, and prepare sensitive records under legislation such as CFCSA, FOIPPA, and YCJA, contributing meaningful work that supports BC families and vulnerable populations.
The Role
The Information Production Technician provides essential administrative and operational support to the Information Policy & Disclosure (IPaD) intake and scanning teams by coordinating the intake, preparation, scanning, and distribution of records to support timely disclosure. This fast-paced, office-based role applies legislative requirements in daily work and serves as a foundational position that supports services for children and families while building skills for future growth within IPaD.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Dogwood, GED or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC)).
- Experience with scanning equipment.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration.
- Six (6) months or more of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role.
Willingness Statements:
- Must be able to lift heavy boxes (up to 50lbs).
- Must be able to remain seated at a workstation for extended periods, with regular stretching and attention to ergonomic health.
- Must be able to handle old, dusty and often disturbing, highly confidential and sensitive materials.
