The Team
The High Risk CYMH Team is a well‑established group of 7 professionals who provide urgent (non‑crisis) mental‑health support to suicidal youth up to age 19 throughout the Greater Victoria area. The team works closely with local hospitals, crisis‑response teams, other CYMH programs, community agencies, and health‑authority partners to ensure coordinated and continuous care. We are committed to reducing barriers to service by meeting youth and families where they are and offering flexible, responsive support tailored to their needs. A strong culture of collegiality, collaboration, and mutual support is central to our work, creating an environment where clinicians can rely on one another and engage in shared problem‑solving to provide the highest quality care. Our focus is on supporting both young people and their caregivers through intensive assessment, safety planning, and stabilization to promote improved well‑being and long‑term success.
The Role
You will lead by providing clinical and administrative supervision, direction, and strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team of 6 professional Mental Health service providers. You will contribute to developing and implementing plans, to manage, and evaluate the delivery of mental health services for children, youth, and families in the local community to ensure that the team is meeting program goals and deliverables. In this role you will collaborate and build partnerships with other ministry programs, Indigenous partners, community agencies, hospitals and schools. As a vital member of this diverse team, your contributions will add to the empowerment of children, youth, and their families to navigate change and recovery with confidence.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters Degree in Social Work (Clinical Specialty or equivalent training/education), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent.
- Three (3) years experience in the provision of mental health services to children, youth and their families.
- Experience Supervising staff.
NOTE: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a Basic Report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Five (5) or more years of in the provision of mental health services to children, youth and their families.
- Six (6) or more months of experience leading staff in a supervisory capacity.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
