The Team
The Community Youth Justice Admin Support team is a collaborative, province-wide group that provides essential administrative, financial, and CORNET data entry support to Youth Probation staff across British Columbia, working closely with YPOs, Team Leaders, and Directors of Operation. This dedicated team of six administrators and one office manager plays a vital role in supporting over 90 Youth Probation Officers, and is known for its strong work ethic, mutual support, and commitment to helping youth justice services run effectively across the province.
The Role
The Team Assistant provides CORNET data entry along with financial and administrative support to Youth Probation Officers, Team Leaders, Directors of Operation, and the broader admin team, helping ensure youth justice services operate smoothly across the province. This role has a meaningful impact by supporting the work of professionals who serve and advocate for youth, and offers candidates a rewarding opportunity to be part of a collaborative, province-wide team contributing to public safety and positive outcomes for young people.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or coursework and at least 6 months related experience**; OR
- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and at least 6 months related experience**; OR
- Evergreen and at least 1-year related experience**; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Work Experience may include:
- Experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and databases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel, Outlook, Lync) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
- Experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
- Experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, clients, and service providers.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
- Experience using applications: CORNET; JUSTIN; Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.
- One (1) year or more experience working with CORNET and/or to those candidates who hold a CORNET license.
- Experience in offices with youth probation officers and provided direct client service to these individuals.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established.
