The Team
The Community Safety and Victim Services Branch is responsible for victim service programs, crime prevention initiatives, responses to sexual exploitation and human trafficking, and civil forfeiture. The branch operates the Crime Victim Assistance Program, the Victim Safety Unit, court support, Intimate Images Protection Unit, and victim restitution programs. Together, we strive to support the branch and ministry in meeting strategic goals and to address community safety and provide a comprehensive continuum of services for victims and survivors of crime, making a real difference in British Columbia.
The Role
The Administrative Assistant is accountable for the efficient administration of the day-to-day priorities of the Community Safety and Victim Services Branch; providing a variety of administrative, financial, and client support services as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum 6 months’ clerical/administrative support experience in an office setting.
- Experience providing direct customer service, including problem solving, tracking, and follow-up.
- Experience using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and other standard computer applications.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Post-secondary education and/or training in Office Administration or in a related field.
- More than 6 months of clerical/administrative support experience in an office setting.
- More than 1 year of experience providing direct customer service, including problem solving, tracking, and follow-up.
- Experience with records management/archiving.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Experience using CAS, iExpense, and other Dynamix and Oracle based software applications.

About this Position:
This position is based in Vancouver.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
