Description
The Team
The Ministry of Infrastructure provides major capital project planning services, procurement and delivery for schools, hospitals and health facilities, post-secondary institution student housing, and other important public buildings from which provincial services are delivered to support B.C.'s growing communities.. As the lead for vertical capital infrastructure construction, the ministry works closely with several partner ministries to ensure important cross-government infrastructure projects are coordinated and delivered as efficiently as possible. The ministry also provides government workplace services, including managing government's real estate portfolio, office space inventory, furniture procurement, project and construction management, real estate services, and oversight of government's surplus property sales.
The Infrastructure Policy and Partnerships Division leads engagement with other organizations and levels of government. It leads strategic policy and legislation development, including developing policy frameworks and regulations to implement the Infrastructure Projects Act. It also supports operational policy development, and acquisition and disposition of property for public schools, post-secondary institutions, and medical facilities.
The Role
Reporting to the Director, the Policy Analyst independently manages assigned policy projects focused on the review and development of ministry policies or legislation. The position leads policy projects by overseeing project teams, conducting research and analysis, participating in engagement, and developing various documents such as briefing notes and discussion papers.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis; OR
• Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis; OR
• Diploma and three (3) years of experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis; OR
• Certificate or coursework and four (4) years of experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry. (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position.)
Preference may be given to candidates with the required combination of education and experience and:
• Related experience gained in a public service or government environment.
• Experience in engagement on policy topics
• Experience in managing projects and/or project components

About this Position:
Hybrid work options are available. The successful applicant would be required to be in-office 1 day per week, subject to an approved telework agreement.
