The Team
The Surrey Provincial Court, Court Administration team supports one of the busiest Provincial Court locations in British Columbia, delivering services across criminal, youth, family, child protection, small claims, and traffic matters. With more than 72 staff working across registry, accounting, and in‑court program delivery, this established and highly collaborative team supports access to justice through dedicated expertise, strong customer service, and productive partnerships with justice system stakeholders.
 

The Role
The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily financial operations of the Surrey Provincial Courts, including the receipt and disbursement of revenue and trust monies, interpreter and witness management programs, and compliance with financial policies and procedures. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role provides leadership, training, and supervision to the accounting team while offering technical and administrative support to a wide range of court users, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, effective service delivery, and smooth operational functioning.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have secondary school graduation or equivalent (e.g. GED)
  • Must have 2 years of recent clerical experience working in a legal environment or 1 year experience working in Court Administration
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, standard computer application and software programs (e.g. Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).


Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Accounting experience within Court Services Branch.
  • Working with Court Registry accounting practices, policies, and procedures
  • Experience with Courts Programs and Applications (CTAS, ARC, JUSTIN, CCD)
  • Recent supervisory experience.
