Description
The Team
The Archaeology Branch is an interdisciplinary team responsible for regulating archaeology under the Heritage Conservation Act. The team undertakes operational and strategic activities to support the stewardship of British Columbia’s cultural heritage.
The Role
As an Inventory Archaeology Technologist, you'll play a role in supporting the maintenance the Provincial Heritage Register by supporting the review of site record submissions, ensuring accuracy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team, apply your expertise to support provincial decision-making, and drive progress in archaeological practices.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- BA or BSc in archaeology; or BA in anthropology with a specialization in archaeology or comparable experience in archaeological resource management
Preference
- Experience that includes field work, site recording, and/or producing reports, site forms, and/or site maps.
- Experience using complex spreadsheets (e.g. Excel), relational databases, and/or geographic information system software.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
