**Salary Range $80,703.86 - $91,936.08 annually, effective April 5, 2026**
The Team
The Okanagan Columbia Business Area at BC Timber Sales is a team of about 50 people who work in planning, GIS, administration, engineering, Indigenous liaison, and field operations. As a Resource Professional, you will work closely with field teams, foresters, supervisors, and certification staff to support timber sales and silviculture projects. Our team values safety, caring for the environment, respectful work with Indigenous communities, and creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace for people from all backgrounds.
The Role
As a Resource Professional with BC Timber Sales, you will provide professional advice and mentorship to support timber sale development, silviculture, and engineering activities. This “player-coach” role combines hands-on work with guiding technicians and supporting supervisors to deliver safe, sustainable operations that meet environmental and certification standards. Your work will help advance responsible forest management, support economic stability, and contribute to respectful collaboration with Indigenous communities and partners.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a natural resource field and 2 years of related experience; OR
- Diploma in a natural resource field and 3 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Registered, or eligible for registration as a Registered Forest Technologist (or equivalent) with Forest Professionals BC.
Related Experience must include
- Minimum 1 year of experience in timber evaluation and appraisals.
- Experience in multidisciplinary issues involved in natural resource management
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Registered, or eligible for registration as a Registered Forest Technologist (or equivalent) with Forest Professionals BC.
- Minimum 1 year experience of contract management.
Provisos /Willingness statement(s)
- Valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Must meet safety standards of WorkSafeBC.

About this Position:
This position is based out of the Vernon office. Once a 6-month probationary period is successfully completed a hybrid work schedule may be considered.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
