Job Overview
The Provincial Timber Pricing Program is focused on addressing the ministry’s mandate under the Ministry of Forests and Range Act, specifically to assert the financial interests of the Crown in its forest resources in a systematic and equitable manner.  The Regional Operations Revenue program is explicitly responsible for ensuring that timber measurements, pricing, billing, and log export authorizations are conducted correctly.  The program is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure accuracy while enhancing forest sector competitiveness. Under the direction of the Revenue Team Leader, the program ensures that the revenue requirements identified in the legislation, regulations, Service Plan, policies, and procedures are met.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Professional Forester with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or other directly related discipline as recognized by FPBC.
  • Possess and maintain a valid British Columbia Class 5, driver’s licence

Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience:

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary groups and projects in natural resource management.
  • Experience identifying linkages in issue, determining cause and effect, and providing sound advice to statutory decision makers.
  • Experience working with staff, the public, and other resource stakeholders for the purposes of achieving an organizational goal or objective.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related operational, strategic, tenure, and/or timber pricing experience in natural resource management.

About this Position:

This position can be based in any Ministry of Forests office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
