Job Overview
The Confidential Services Clerk is responsible for processing legal changes of name, registering of adoptions, and providing support to the Team Lead for investigative information enquiries. Under the general supervision of the Team Lead, the position applies knowledge of Agency specific legislation, policy and procedure to: the general public - to administer the change of name function, and, the legal community - to provide guidance in name change and adoption registration processes.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent (GED); 
  • Minimum three (3) years of clerical/administrative support experience working in a high-volume customer service environment providing service delivery to the public.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with MS Word, Excel, email, databases, and other standard computer applications.


Preference may be given to applicants with the following

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Experience working with confidential files and handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated experience performing duties independently and under limited guidance.
  • Experience referencing, interpreting, and applying a variety of policies and procedures to determine the appropriate course of action.

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
