Job Overview
The Manager, Surfacing Operations is responsible for planning, managing and programming of the Multi-Year Resurfacing Program element of the Ministry's Preservation Program. As well, this position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, organizing, cost estimating, and coordinating the provision of operational and professional services necessary for design, property acquisition, tender preparation, tendering, contract administration and construction supervision for all highway pavement rehabilitation projects on the approved Multi-Year Resurfacing Program. The Manager, Surfacing Operations is responsible for liaising with field services managers for the provision of paving technical services and sealcoat operational services to all work units in the Northern Region. The Manager, Surfacing Operations ensures the preservation and rehabilitation of the surfaced road network through strategic planning and delivery that ensures the best value for money, and supports the safe, economic and efficient movement of people, goods and resources within the Northern Region.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree (Education should be in engineering, technical, or related field) with a minimum of 3 years experience or,
- Diploma (Education should be in engineering, technical, or related field) with a minimum of 4 years experience or,
- Certificate (Education should be in engineering, technical, or related field) with a minimum of 7 years experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Preference may be given to applicants with transportation and paving experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid BC Class 5 driver's license.

This is a temporary opportunity until June 30, 2026.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
