Job Overview
The Senior Project Management Advisor is responsible for multiple programs and/or ministry-wide projects and guide staff throughout the project management life cycle. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Advisor is responsible for leading critical operational project implementation across high-profile projects and programs that improve outcomes for the children, youth, young adults and families we serve. The Advisor monitors project progress, prepares reports for management, and conducts post-project evaluations to improve processes. They define and control all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and specified quality. They train staff, lead project teams, supervise staff or hire contractors as necessary. As a key member of the Project Management Team, the Advisor provides comprehensive project support services to ensure the critical implementation of operational services to the Ministry, the Division, and the Branch.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree and 1 year of related experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related* experience; OR
  • Diploma and 3 years related* experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework and 4 years related* experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


*Related experience may include:

  • Experience independently managing projects.
  • Experience directing the work of others (professional employees and/or consultants).
  • Experience presenting information to executive and/or senior management.
  • Experience communicating effectively to a variety of audiences using multiple methods.
     

Preference may be given for:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
  • Applicants qualified to complete Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation within 6 months of commencing the position.
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients and partners in the social sector.
  • Experience in the childcare and/or social sector and/or a public facing social service delivery organization.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 4 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There is currently a temporary opportunity available until September 30, 2027.
