Job Overview
The Practice Consultant is responsible to develop, implement and evaluate operational policies/procedures; identify learning gaps to inform the development of staff orientation and training programs; and to provide evidence-based advice and direction to the ECE Registry Leadership regarding staff practice to ensure consistent, quality practice and adherence to administrative law principles.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services, and 2 years *related experience; OR
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services, and 3 years *related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of post secondary education and experience may be considered.
*Related experience must include all the following:
- Interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and policy in complex situations.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating operational policies/procedures, and practice tools.
- Leading multiple projects from conception to completion within a collaborative work environment.
- Supervising staff who manage projects and/or project components.
- Facilitating training and/or workshops for adults.
- Working in a regulatory environment (e.g. professional regulation or compliance and enforcement) and/or experience as a licensee or manager of a licensed childcare facility.
- Working with technical teams and applications to translate business processes into digital workflows.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services.
- Holds, held or has eligibility to hold an ECE Basic and Post-basic ECE Certification in British Columbia.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility and/or in the early care and learning sector.
- Experience designing and developing websites and managing platforms that provide user-friendly access to program content.
- Experience applying principles of administrative law and/or natural justice.
- Experience analyzing and evaluating program performance.
- Experience establishing collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, including senior management, and/or external stakeholders.
- Experience in the development, review, and implementation of competency-based curriculum.
- Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences.
