Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Degree in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by Forest Professionals BC (FPBC).

Related Experience may include:

• Related experience working in natural resource management.
• Experience in supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.
• Preference may be given to those with experience working in the woodlot program.

Professional Registration and Certification Requirements:

• Registered, or immediately eligible for registration (within six (6) months of employment), with Forest Professionals BC as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF). Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid BC driver’s licence.
• Willing and able to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available.
This position can be located in Fort St James, Mackenzie, Prince George or Vanderhoof.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the above locations.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
