As a Licensed Authorizations Officer, you bring your scientific expertise to the front lines of natural resource management. From assessing applications to coordinating with First Nations, governments, and other partners and stakeholders, you will help ensure BC’s resources are used wisely and sustainably. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by Forest Professionals BC (FPBC).
Related experience may include:
- Experience in consulting, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with partners and stakeholders in natural resource management.
- Experience in supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.
Professional Registration and Certification Requirements:
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration (within six (6) months of employment), with Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF). Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
- Willing and able to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available.
This position can be located in Mackenzie, Prince George, Vanderhoof or Fort Saint James.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
This position will be required to conduct field work in Mackenzie.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the above locations.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
