Job Overview
As a recognized expert in research, systems thinking, facilitating group process and human-centered design, the Service Design Lead provides leadership, expertise and creative solutions to service design, user experience design and digital services. The Service Design Lead must work effectively with a wide variety people from members of the public or specific user groups to policy, program and organizational leads within the Justice sector to define, implement and measure service design including policy related service design projects.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Inclusive Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field and recent experience.
- an equivalent combination of related recent experience and/or education may be considered.
Related Recent Experience must consist of:
- Minimum 3 years experience applying human-centred design methods (e.g., user research, journey mapping, prototyping, usability testing) to design or improve policy, programs, processes, or digital services.
- Minimum 3 years experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects, including facilitating collaborative workshops and engagement processes.
- Minimum 2 years experience leading significant service delivery or organizational change initiatives from concept through implementation.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience in the Justice sector.
- Experience applying service design principles in a policy environment.
- Experience in inclusive design.
- Master’s degree in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Inclusive Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, Communications or Social Sciences.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
