Job Overview
This position supports the Health and Safety team in MCFD. The Health and Safety team, with a focus on both occupational health and safety (OHS) and psychological health and safety, is highly collaborative and does fulfilling work. The Project Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support for initiatives that positively contribute to the well-being of employees throughout our ministry. Using critical thinking skills and a high degree of accuracy, the Project Assistant tracks and categorizes data from Supervisor OHS Incident reports, office Violence Risk Assessments, the Critical Incident Response service, Cumulative Stress Management Program, and more. They actively contribute to reporting and process improvements, such as streamlining how we gather and share information with diverse user groups (e.g. direct service supervisors, OHS Managers, BCGEU via Article 29 OHS Subcommittee, etc.), as well as project success (e.g. supporting timelines, collecting program evaluation and feedback, flagging concerns, etc.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- One (1) year’s experience using Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- One (1) years’ experience working in a professional office environment.
- Preference may be given to applicants with (six) 6 months’ experience providing project management support services.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 4 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
