Job Overview
In this role, the Senior Policy Analyst leads and coordinates mental health and wellness initiatives both independently and collaboratively. The position focuses on research and analysis of mental health, substance use, and wellness‑related matters; the development and implementation of strategic initiatives; and the evaluation of data to inform and strengthen student and adult mental health and wellness outcomes.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Mental Health and Wellness.

Qualifications:

  • A Masters’ degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Psychology, Counselling, Child and Youth Studies, Social Science, or Economics, or related field and a minimum of one (1) year related experience; OR
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Psychology, Counselling, Child and Youth Studies, Social Science, or Economics, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years related experience; OR
  • A Diploma in Public Administration, Public Policy, Psychology, Counselling, Child and Youth Studies, Social Science, or Economics, or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience must include the following:

  • Experience planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
  • Experience concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating qualitative and quantitative data.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Direct experience working in the K-12 education system.
  • Experience with mental health, substance use, and school health projects or initiatives.
  • Experience with BC’s reconciliation initiatives, including engagement and collaboration with First Nations, Indigenous peoples, and/or Indigenous leadership organizations.
  • Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until September 5, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available. This position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Please contact the hiring manager for further details or if you have any questions.
