Description

This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Band 4 base position.

Job Overview
The Director is accountable for the successful planning and delivery of operations through a team of Workers’ Advisers who each manage a significant caseload.  This position contributes to strategic planning for the Branch and translates and implements strategic goals into operational delivery at the regional and provincial level.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • University degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (i.e. diploma in a related discipline plus seven (7) years of experience; no degree or diploma but ten (10) years of related training and experience).
  • Five (5) years experience interpreting and applying workers compensation legislation, regulations, policies and practice.
  • Experience leading professional teams and resolving complex staff and/or client issues.
  • Leadership experience in a client-service focused area.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience representing workers before appeal bodies on issues arising from them.
  • Experience working in the BC workers compensation system.

Provisos / Willingness statement:

  • Travel outside of regular work hours may be required to regional offices across the Province.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
