The Team
Our Mineral Oil and Gas Revenue Audit Team is a small group of approximately 13 auditors, spanning both Oil and Gas and Mineral Tax.  By collaborating with key stakeholders, including the BC Energy Regulator and the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions and Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals, our team plays a crucial role in supporting the Oil and Gas and Mining Industries in BC. The Role
This position is responsible for planning and conducting tax audits in accordance with current legislation and branch standards, focusing on complex operations and large businesses operating in British Columbia. Audits may take place within or outside the province. The role includes analyzing and reporting on audit findings, and establishing evidence to support offences under mineral tax, oil and gas tax, and royalty statutes administered by the branch, contributing to the effective administration of tax and royalty revenues for the province.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation CPA - CA, CGA, CMA, issued by a Canadian Accounting Association. Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.
  • Minimum of 3 years of audit and/or accounting experience, which must include minimum 2 years of audit experience in a tax and/or royalty environment.

Provisos:

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to conduct field work which may include travel within and outside of the province.
