Job Overview
The Manager, Criminal Operations provides authoritative advice, interpretation and/or consultation services while leading a team of specialists who provide professional expertise in the delivery of law enforcement programs, services, and initiatives designed to mitigate financial loss, augment cost recovery, deter fraud, and prosecute serious offenders.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, certification in related discipline such as administrative law, investigation and enforcement, or criminology, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in conducting complex criminal investigations and prosecutions.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in leading an enforcement program to ensure compliance with provincial or federal regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience supervising professional and technical law enforcement staff.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
  • Experience in leading, coordinating, and providing subject matter expertise to criminal investigative teams conducting criminal investigations.

Preference may be given to applicant with following:

  • Criminal investigative experience in commercial, financial or other serious crime.
  • Experience and/or training in Major Case Management.
  • Experience in conducting Internal investigations of criminal acts committed by employees.
  • Experience in civil actions or litigation in debt recovery.

Proviso/Willingness Statements:

  • Must be eligible to be approved by the Ministry of the Attorney General for appointment as a Special Provincial Constable under the Police Act.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to meet job requirements.
  • Willing to work extended hours with limited notice, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Position requires a valid B.C. driver’s license or equivalent
