The Team
The Prevention and Loss Management Services Branch (PLMS) is dedicated to promoting the integrity of, and maintaining public confidence in, the BC Employment and Assistance Program

The Role
Quality and Compliance Specialists (QCS) work with clients to determine eligibility for ongoing benefits by conducting compliance reviews, educating clients on the benefits available to them, and ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities when receiving assistance. QCSs complete file reviews on income and disability assistance files and identify under-and over-payments of benefits. We believe in supporting a strong relationship between the client and the Ministry, ensuring our decisions follow administrative fairness practices, and in being reliable and responsive to client needs.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree with a focus of study in a related area, and a minimum of one year related* experience, or 
  • Diploma with a focus of study in a related area, and a minimum of two years related* experience, or 
  • Certificate with a focus of study in a related area, and a minimum of three years related* experience, or 
  • No related post-secondary education, and a minimum of five years related* experience. 

*Related fields of Education could include: 

  • Social Work 
  • Education 
  • Finance, Compliance 
  • Public Administration 

*Related Experience must include all of the following: 

  • Experience in gathering confidential, legal and/or personal information. 
  • Experience in conducting interviews, fact finding, and determining appropriate action.
  • Experience reviewing financial information and analyzing documents. 

Preferences 

  • Experience writing decisions, documenting conclusions, and preparing information summaries. 
  • Experience working in a community or multi-service provider environment. 
  • Experience determining eligibility for programs and services. 
  • Experience with interpretation/application of legislation.

About this Position:
There are three (3) temporary positions available until 1/31/2028. These temporary positions may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position is a 4 day work week that allows 2 days per week from home during the probationary period with possible increase to 3 days subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
