The Team
Duncan Community Corrections is an established, highly respected team serving communities in the region. With 12 dedicated staff including Probation Officers and 2 administrative staff, the team is known for its strong work ethic, collaborative spirit, and its consistent willingness to support neighbouring offices in challenging times. Their work focuses on delivering risk-based interventions that contribute directly to safer, healthier communities.
The team works closely with local Indigenous groups, justice partners, and other community stakeholders, forming strong relationships that enhance service delivery and community safety. This is a committed, community focused group that takes pride in professionalism, resilience, and meaningful impact.
The Role
The Local Manager plays a vital role in fostering a positive office culture that promotes organizational health and effective teamwork. By collaborating closely with the Duncan team, this position ensures high-quality services for clients while providing direction and mentorship to staff. This role not only offers the chance to develop leadership skills but also allows you to build essential community relationships that enhance the impact of our work, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Two years’ experience as a fully trained probation officer [full working level grid 24 (1)] within British Columbia; OR
- A combination of community corrections related program or policy analyst work, projects, or training may be deemed equivalent.
- Valid British Columbia Driver’s License.
Provisos/Willingness Statements:
- Successful outcome of background reviews regarding criminal involvement and driving records.
- Travel to other geographic locations may be required.
- Evening or weekend work may be required for operational reasons.
