This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 21 base position.

Job Overview
To provide advisory services in the preparation of annual budgets; conduct proactive reporting and analysis of financial information; participate in the development and maintenance of a framework for setting, measuring, analyzing and reporting on financial performance; integrate the reporting of financial and operational results; and assess and make recommendations on the financial implications of new initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a financial management related field and 1 year of related experience; OR
  • Diploma in a financial management related field and 2 years related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in a financial management field, such as the Financial Management Certificate Program, and 3 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes:

  • Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
  • Experience analyzing financial and accounting statements.
  • Experience developing financial reports.

Preference may be given to:

  • More than one year’s experience: conducting analytical research (to support budget development, delegation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation) and/or analyzing financial and accounting statements and developing financial reports (to support decision making by managers and executives).
  • Experience contributing to budget development, delegation, monitoring, and reporting for a medium-large program/branch/ministry (i.e. > 1,000 FTEs and > $100M annual operating budget).
  • Experience using MS-Excel at an intermediate level (e.g. data manipulation, formula construction & troubleshooting, and report generation).
