Job Overview
The Director, Property Transfer Tax is accountable for planning, organizing and leading the delivery of property taxation audit and compliance programs, including the additional property transfer tax on foreign entities, in relation to the Property Transfer Tax Act. The position ensures the programs and policies are strategically designed and implemented to minimize tax revenue risks, maximize compliance and taxation revenue return and meet the Ministry’s strategic objectives and performance measures.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA, legacy CA, CMA, CGA) issued by a Canadian Accounting Association, or equivalent. Plus *related experience.
(Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.)
*Related experience includes:
- Minimum Four (4) years of *related public sector management experience in each of the following:
- Experience working in a tax administration environment.
- Providing direction, leadership and supervision to diverse teams.
- Analyzing and resolving complex legal, factual, business and/or accounting issues.
- Establishing, maintaining collaborative working relationships to provide expertise and advice.
- Supporting strategic and business planning.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience providing leadership and oversight to teams undertaking financial and/or tax audits.
