Description

This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 09 base position.

Job Overview
Reporting to the Administrative supervisor for the Archaeology Branch, this position provides administrative support for the branch permitting process (the branch processes approximately 1200 permits and amendments per year). Receives, reviews and validates incoming submissions and clarifies permit applications with clients. Responds to inquiries from proponents, indigenous groups, the public; maintains records and performs other office functions as required.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing administrative/clerical services in an office setting.
  • Experience using databases (e.g., entering, updating and retrieving data, conducting data accuracy checks, conducting searches and extracting information, creating or managing files).
  • Experience typing, formatting and editing letters and documents using MS Word.
  • Experience administering mail and responding to a variety of inquiries and requests for information from customers and/or clients by phone and/or in‐person.
  • Experience in records management or filing.

Preference may be given to applicants that have the following experience:

  • Preference may be given for ARCS/ORCS experience.
  • Preference may be given for experience creating and maintaining templates.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
