Job Overview
To manage the planning and facilitation of the consultation process with Indigenous Nations according to best practices and Treaty and/or legal obligations. To establish working relationships with Indigenous communities. To receive, record, and recommend responses to Indigenous Peoples' information, interests, and opinions.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience leading consultation processes, and/or negotiations, and/or supporting agreements with First Nations.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, and/or social or economic development issues.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and assignments.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and facilitating consultations.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) temporary, full time position available to March 31st, 2027.
This temporary appointment may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based in any Ministry of Forests’ office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
