Job Overview
The Registry Policy Analyst is responsible to research, develop, and write, new operational policies, procedures, and processes. This includes the development of policy for international, domestic labour mobility, and B.C. provincial certification processes, post-secondary early childhood education program policy to support monitoring and recognition of post-secondary institutions, policy for conducting investigations into the practice of ECEs and ECE Assistants, and other Registry business areas as identified.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education or Social/Health Services, AND 1 year *related experience; OR
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education or Social/Health Services, AND 2 years *related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of post secondary education and *related experience may be considered.
*Related Experience must Include:
- Researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
- Managing projects and/or project components.
- Working in a regulatory environment (e.g. professional regulation or compliance and enforcement, or as a licensee/manager of a licensed childcare facility), applying legislation and regulations.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating operational policies/procedures, and practice tools.
- Researching and analyzing program performance.
- Establishing collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, including senior management, and external stakeholders.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- A Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
- Experience working with data in MS Excel to inform program policy decisions and improve operations.
- Holds, held or has eligibility to hold an ECE Basic Certification in British Columbia.
- Formal training in policy and procedure development and analysis or administrative law.
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating staff orientation and training programs.
- Experience working in a licensed child care facility and/or in the early care and learning sector.
- Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences.

This is a temporary opportunity until 11/07/2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 5 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
