Job Overview
This position plans, manages and leads, the Student Ranger Program and Youth Employment Program for BC Parks. Position also provides project management expertise and guidance to Regional staff on program and project staff and financial resources.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in recreation management, natural resource management, business administration, public administration, or equivalent; OR, Natural Resource Management focused diploma with three (3) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of related education/training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience independently managing projects and programs.
  • Experience directing the work of others (professional employees, employees and/or consultants).
  • Experience in procurement, resource and financial management.

Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience working in the Natural Resource Sector.
  • Experience working with and managing youth initiatives.
  • Experience supervising.

About this Position:
There is currently one temporary, full time position available for approximately six (6) months.
This position can be based in any BC Parks and Recreation location within the Province.
The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
