Job Overview
The Team Lead, Tenure, Revenue Management, provides senior financial and revenue management services for the Tenure and Resource Stewardship Branch of the ministry. The position leads the administration, collection, reconciliation, and reporting of tenure revenue related to geothermal and oil and gas tenures, ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, and data integrity. The position also provides input and advice on application software infrastructure development and works with all lines of business and customers to apply business processes and ensure effective responses to dynamic client demand and changing government structure. The role provides expert advice to internal and external clients, interprets legislation and policy, supports regulatory and administrative decision-making, and contributes to continuous improvement of business processes and procedures development. Reliable revenue data produced by this position supports ministry forecasting, budgeting, and informed decision making.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher and related experience*
- Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) years of related experience*; OR
- Diploma and three (3) years related experience*; OR
- Certificate or coursework and 4 years related experience*; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience* may be considered.
*Related Experience must include the following:
- Experience analyzing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial action.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Experience providing oversight of revenue collection processes, validation of revenue inputs, reconciliation of suspense and revenue accounts for subsurface resource tenures.
- Experience with the preparation of quarterly and annual revenue forecasts, analysis of variances, and reporting to ministry executive, CSNR Finance, and Provincial Treasury.
- Experience with IM/IT projects, contributing subject matter expertise and ensuring ministry interests and requirements are addressed.
- Experience supporting consistent financial practices, and effective communication to ensure the reliable revenue management process for the subsurface tenures.
- Experience in budget development and estimates preparation, financial planning and analysis, budget monitoring, and preparation of reports for executive staff.
- Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
- Preference may be given to candidates who hold a professional accounting designation and are members of the Chartered Professional Accountants BC (CPABC).

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
