Job Overview
The Senior Policy Analyst leads strategic policy development and analysis to advance liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in British Columbia, providing expert advice on regulatory frameworks, economic impacts, Indigenous partnerships, environmental considerations, and market opportunities. This role drives cross government coordination, evaluates project proposals, identifies barriers to investment, and develops evidence based recommendations that support responsible LNG growth aligned with provincial priorities. The analyst also monitors global LNG trends, strengthens relationships with industry and key stakeholders, and prepares briefing materials that inform executive decision making and long term resource development strategies.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or related field and five (5) years of related experience*; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Related experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience in the development of legislation, regulation, and policy.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more or more of the following

  • Two (2) years of full-time work experience in research and policy analysis, or project management in energy sector files including land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
  • Experience in dealing with complex issues pertaining to a wide variety of stakeholders.

About this Position:
This position can be based in any Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary opportunity until April 2, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
